CPSA Women’s Caucus

The CPSA Women’s Caucus is an informal group of women political scientists and graduate students who organize academic and social events primarily at the CPSA Annual Conference. It works to mentor women entering the field, to provide opportunities for networking among its members, to raise the visibility of women in the field, and to address and advocate on gender issues more generally.

The caucus has a rich history that dates back to the late 1970’s. Back then, it was a very small group – but, in recent years, there has been, on average, 60 participants in the caucus social events and many more in the pre-conference events and conference panels dealing with women, gender and politics.

Both the Women’s Caucus luncheon meeting and dinner provide an opportunity for women in the discipline to discuss issues of mutual interest. Information on the caucus previous events are available clicking on the following links:
