2014 CPSA Prize for Teaching Excellence

Winner: Mark Salter, University of Ottawa

Excerpt from jury report: Dr. Mark Salter is an exceptional teacher. He seeks to support students in their learning through an emphasis on skill building and ‘learning-by-doing’ and he regularly creates innovative assignments that make use of new learning technologies. He has created classroom spaces designed for discovery. Dr. Salter is also leader in the promotion of teaching and learning excellence and has given presentations on his teaching practices at both the national and the international level, is active in professional development through both the Canadian Political Science Association and the International Studies Association and has actively engaged in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
